I learned quickly that regular visitors came primarily to see the artful secrets, not to read stories or learn about my speaking events. So my first lesson was to understand where the true value was on the site and move everything else to better suited locations. That allowed me to further define the PostSecret site and create other social sites that could work within their particular online environments to raise awareness and bring people to the central site.

One of those social networks was YouTube YouTube and after several failed attempts we came up with our first viral video. It brought the secrets to life through animation and music that worked emotionally, but more than that it acted as a model. YouTube users began creating their own PostSecret videos and posting them independently. Now there is a large PostSecret Community on YouTube that has started inventing new types of secret videos to share. Members
